Loving God through serving others and making disciples
Happy Wednesday to all,
Here is a quick summary of where we are so far since our meeting on the 19th:
I have the application in to the City of King for 'an open air' event, which will be sent to the Chief of Police; we will then meet in person; we cannot officially advertise an event in King until we have the final approval
Deacon David and Marge suggested we shorten the time for adoration to allow adequate time for lunch especially for kids so the schedule was adjusted; see below
Deacon David will work with Marge regarding Adoration and Benediction
We will need a canopy to be carried over Father; Leslie and Sharon will work on that
Deacon David mentioned we will need altar servers to carry candles and incense
Ann will be contacting 2 food trucks to serve lunch and people will be invited to bring a bagged lunch as well, similar to what is done in Charlotte
Patrick Yodiz, from St. Leo's, has agreed to do one of our presentations, "Living the Eucharistic Life," as suggested by Haley and will include acts of charity as suggested by Stephanie
Still looking for a presenter for the presentation on "Eucharistic Miracles"
Stephanie requested we collect toiletry items for KOM the day of the Congress; she will be speaking to them about specific needs
Deacon David suggested we prepare a hand out with information about the Eucharist and the procession; Diane agreed to write that up with input from the group
We will have an article published in the Stokes New the week or so before the event; Rusty has already graciously submitted one
We will reach out to other parishes and invite them to the event and we'll need someone to do that
The youth track is in planning; Colton and Summer stepped forth to help with that
Stephanie submitted some ideas for the younger children; we'll continue that discussion next meeting
Vickie suggested we have a sign-up in the Narthex so we can get an idea of participation
We're hoping the procession will include music, youth group, Hispanic ministry, Knights of Columbus and our 1st communicants
We'll end the day with a cook-out after Mass
Here is the schedule as it stands right now:
